I trained at Northwestern University in Chicago, earning my medical degree in 2003 and finishing residency in otolaryngology — head and neck surgery in 2008, across Northwestern Memorial, Evanston, Cook County Stroger and Lurie Children’s.
My fellowship was with the Glasgold Group in Highland Park, New Jersey, an ABFPRS-accredited program, in 2008 and 2009. It was then a father and two sons, and I trained with all three: one doing largely rhinoplasty, one doing largely deep plane facelifting, one doing rhinoplasty alongside a great deal of injectable work. Training under three surgeons rather than one gave me an unusually wide view of facial rejuvenation early.
I then spent years working alongside established facial plastic surgeons on both the East and West Coasts.
I take a comprehensive approach to the face, head and neck. I balance the cosmetic against the functional, and both against what a patient actually wants. The aim is a result that looks harmonious and natural on your face.
My practice is focused on facial rejuvenation, and that focus is deliberate. I do not perform rhinoplasty. Patients who come to me wanting their nose addressed are referred to colleagues who do that work all day, which is what I would want for my own family.

Why two board certifications matter
Facial plastic surgery is the aesthetic discipline. Otolaryngology — head and neck surgery is the specialty of the structure itself: the planes, the nerves, and what to do when the anatomy in front of me is not the anatomy in the textbook.
In a deep plane facelift the branches of the facial nerve run through the exact layer I am dissecting. That second qualification is the subject matter of the operation.
